WEEK 50 (December 7 – 11): Forthcoming economic news-releases

Despite ECB President Mario Draghi usually attract a lot of interest from economists and traders, nobody expected such euro volatility after his press conference on December 3. More of it, most of the economists expecting that after Draghi speech euro goes down slowly, but it jumped up for 400 pips. The coming week perhaps will not move the market so drastically, but rate decisions from Switzerland, New Zealand and the UK also can add significant volatility to the market. Here is the full list of the major events we are awaiting on the next week.:

On Monday, at 3:00pm Bank of England Governor Mark Carney will testify before the European Parliament Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, in Brussels.

On Tuesday, at 12:30am National Australia Bank will release Business Confidence level – survey of about 350 businesses which asks respondents to rate the relative level of current business conditions.

At 9:30am Great Britain Office for National Statistics will anounce monthly data of Manufacturing Production.

At 1:30pm monthly Building Permits data will arrive from Statistics Canada.

At 5:50pm Bank of Canada Governor Stephen Poloz speaks at the Empire Club of Canada, in Toronto. Text of the speech due to be released 15 minutes earlier than the speaking time listed.

On Wednesday, at 8:00pm Reserve Bank of New Zealand will anounce interest rate decisions with following commentary about the economic conditions that influenced their decision.

At 8:05pm Reserve Bank of New Zealand Governor Graeme Wheeler will give a press conference.

On Thursday, at 12:30am statistics from Australian labor market – Employment Change and Unemployment Rate will be provided by Australian Bureau of Statistics.

At 8:30am Swiss National Bank will anounce London interest rate for 3-month Swiss franc deposits (LIBOR). Monetary Policy Assessment and Press Conference will follow.

At 12:00pm Bank of England will release Official Bank Rate Votes. And of course it will be followed with interest rates decision and Monetary Policy Summary from Monetary Policy Committee.

At 1:30pm number of Unemployment Claims will be provided by US Department of Labor.

On Friday, at 1:30pm monthly Retail Sales and Core Retail Sales will be published by US Census Bureau.

At the same time, at 1:30pm Producer Price Index (PPI Index) will be released by Bureau of Labor Statistics.

At 3:00pm University of Michigan (UoM) will inform us about results of Prelim UoM Consumer Sentiment based on survey of about 500 consumers.
